I am having my car signwritten and I see I gan have a QR code generated for free. I wanted to add the code so people could scan my car as they were walking past. Can someone tell me a good site and whether there is any sort of 'catch' to these free codes as it is for my business.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Generate the code, save it to your own PC, and TEST IT before you send it off to print.
Don't change the URL that you used to generate the code, or else the code will become useless.
There are other ways of generating a code that will direct users through a gateway then to your website, so that you can monitor how many people are using your QR code (or your various QR codes, if you have different ones for different arms of your business).0 -
I have used QRpal in the past. seems to do the job ok.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!

Does anyone ever use these things? I know they were touted by marketing gurus as the latest "must have" about 12 months ago, but I've never found anyone who actually uses them. Aside from the security concerns, it takes far longer to get out a phone, launch an app, scan the code etc. than it takes to just type in a short URL.0

Last time I used one was in solving a puzzle in the game Fez.
There are some people who will obsessively scan any QR code they come across, usually found in the tech/geek community, it really does depend on what you're advertising. If you're selling computer parts then maybe, if you're a painter&decorator, probably not.0 -
Yeah, the back of my business card is a dirty great QR code containing all my contact details - scan it with your smartphone and I'm added as a contact there and then. They're a bit gimmicky for most people but have uses - like saving typing in long names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, etc.0

Don't link to an AOL/myspace/Yahoo address etc - if you are going to have one -they look naff. If you haven't got a website then you could either start a Facebook page or similar (cringe) or build yourself one.0

^^^this.
Is it just me who cringes a little upon seeing a signwritten van with bobtheplumber734@hotmail.co.uk proudly emblazoned down the side?0 -
Yes, I agree with you! Bob should really have converted to outlook.com0
