I'm afraid I was too keen, I just put the files in the recycle bin, to tidy up the desktop, after uninstalling combo fix, then ran disk cleanup, and windows update to finish off.0

No problem. Secunia can point you in the direction of vulnerable software that needs updating. Adobe products + Java runtime are the main culprits.

It gave me a final (hopefully) nudge today. Iplayer wouldn't run, when I looked, there were all sorts of odd settings in explorer. I've result everything back to default setting, and then had to change my homepages, searches, accelerators etc. Now maybe it's gone for good.0

It didn't work. Iplayer flagged it up initially as flash needing downloading, which I did, but it didn't fix it. I uninstalled it, and re-loaded it, which again didn't help. In the end Flash player wasn't running as Active X wasn't enabled for some websites, but easyac appeared on a lot of lists.0
