40th Birthday

Hi,
It's my birthday in July and I'm looking for suggestions where to go? I would like to go somewhere and chill for a week - no pressure to sightsee or anything....so suggestions please?

You know you're going to get the budget and max travel times questions...

so how much do you want to spend and how long do you want to be on a plane?!

What facilities do you need to do that then?

Let's be honest - with a £7,000 budget for 7 nights for 2, you don't really need any moneysaving help.

    However, try this - http://vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=15082

$1899pp (£1225) plus port/gov taxes and flights for a luxury suite. not AI but with your spare cash you can just spend as you like.

Lay back on your balcony or one of the adult-only areas and chill.

With that kind of budget I'd usually suggest a luxury beach resort in Dubai (flying business class, of course) but July might be a little too hot for you there.

With that kind of money, a cruise is definitely an option - you can do as much or as little as you like and be waited on hand and foot. Prices have been slashed post the Costa disaster.

Check out zanzibar and !!!!! Island on Tripadvisor, !!!!! island is quiet and chilled (and beautiful) Zanzibar has a bit more bustle. Friends of mine have a place on !!!!!, it is amazing, and totally doable on your budget (prob a lot less)

If you just want to "relax and chill" there's no need to spend anywhere near £7k. Also don't see the point in long haul for just a week, especially if you're only after sun. No point travelling half way round the world to do what you could have done in Europe, and by the time you've got over the jet lag it'll be time to come home!

Find some luxury hotel somewhere in Europe for £200-£300 a night, and fly business/club class maybe £1000 each, that's still only half your budget.
