    My husband doesn't "DO" Birthdays, Christmas or Anniversaries either. It's taken him 5 years to realise that I and my children DO.

    Glad you salvaged the day anyway. :)

    I know that feeling! I try to organize something myself, a dinner with the family around, may be buy a new outfit (in the sales) and say it is Mums birthday ....
    I do not make a cake as mine is just days after one of my adult daughters and there is often some still in the fridge.

    It was nice of your son and daughter to ring and you now have a nice holiday to look forward to.

    I would like to add a nice cake picture with candles... but not sure how to do it on this site. Take care...

    My husband never remembers my birthday and ive given up dropping hints, getting the kids to remind him etc but the upshot of it is, i never get a card for his birthday either (though i always wish him a happy birthday which is often more than i get).
