  • Hi there.

My situation is slightly different to yours as i was looking for a refund as opposed to changing names on the tickets.

However if you look a couple of posts up from yours, a user called Stoffy was in the same situation as you and ticketmaster managed to changed the name on the tickets for him.

If you contact him, he might be able to send you an email from Ticketmaster confirming transfer of the names.

    Good luck....

    Result.

Now been sorted - TM have allowed the names to be transferred to my GF's dads name.

    Cheers killerkeychange1010. I owe you a drink!

    Hi stoffy

As you may have seen from the above posts, I'm in a similar situation with Michael McIntyre tickets, I want to transfer these into my wife's name as I can't attend, but ticketmaster say this can't be done.

I see you were in a similar situation and TM, and wonder if you have a copy of an email from them when they said they would do the name switch, so hopefully I can get them to do similar for me.

Hope you can help me out on this

    Thanks

    Hi mate,

I just used the advice above. Contact TM again with all of your sent and received emails from them. CC all of the above people in (Guardian, Daily Mail and Jon Wiffen).

We received an email from them saying "as a gesture of goodwill" (yeah right) they'll sort it out.

I think this would be your best bet to sort this out
  • Thank you for the advice. I also found myself in this crazy situation.

I purchased 3x tickets for Radiohead performing at The O2 London on Monday 8th October (total cost £ £159.25). Due to personal reasons I am no longer able to attend this event.

I contacted Ticketmaster to inform them of my situation hoping I could transfer the tickets into my friends name so they can still attend without me- as they have paid for their tickets. I was told that there was nothing Ticketmaster could or would do as they are following policies handed down to them by Radiohead’s tour management company, that I would have to attend otherwise no-one would be admitted into the concert.

I was not even looking for a refund for my ticket, I purely don’t want my friends to miss out on something they have paid a lot of money for due to my personal circumstances.

I followed the advice above (I have emailed the Guardian, Daily Mail and Jon at Ticketmaster) Fingers crossed it will work!!

    Ill let you know!

Hi, I'm on the same boat where we bought 2 tickets for Radiohead ages ago. My husband is the one who really wanted to go but now he couldn't due to work commitment. Was rather worried and angry when they said no refund and we can't transfer it to get other people to go on our behalf. But thanks to this thread and the information here, we got in touch with Ticketmaster and without much trouble (a phone call to, and waited couple of days with a phone call back), we managed to get our money back. So thanks! I think there's a BIG lesson to learn from ticketmaster as well as any other tour operator for using this non-sense paperless system in the future!
