  • - current HB rates vary for different single person ages between 18 and 25 because they link to age 18 not age 25
    - UC will have just 4 rates instead of the current 15 ESA rates
    - the actual rates are to be [should -maybe ] decided later this year
    - under 25 couple rate will be about 60% higher than the single rate in line with the usual ratio between single and couple rates
    - over 25 will equate to the equivalent rates in JSA

    -how it pans out / ther rates / the politics / the real world - we will just have to wait and see

  • The under 25's in general and the disabled under 25's in particular will have their JSA applications handled by yet one more a~n~other private contrctor called Capita

    - and on the subject of JSA, U25's, and HB
    - even the JSA application is being privatised
    - the DWP will outsource the online application [JSAOL]
    - from September this year
