Tesco dyson vacuum

Hi all been a few years since i posted.
We bought a dc25 at new year and it stopped working so went to tesco and they gave us a dc27 which worked for 2 weeks .
We had a henry hoover that worked non stop for over 20 years and still did until i retired him.
We still have the original reciept and am wanting a henry instead again cause its more reliable
Are we in our rights to get a refund or not
Thanks all

Does anyone know if we could return it and get a refund or even just switch it for a henry in tesco and get a partial refund

You are certainly within your rights to have the situation remedied, and since it's less than 6 months since purchase there should be no argument.

However, it's up to Tesco to choose whether they will give you a refund, a replacement, or try to repair it. I would suggest that a refund is better than a replacement since you can then buy a Henry and have all your rights start again from the new purchase date, whereas your rights with respect to a replacement still date back to the original purchase date.

Since the Dyson has a 5 year warranty, why didn't you just call them up and they would have fixed it on site?
Did you clean the filters reguarly?

Well if I had two break within a few months I would give up and want something better too.

Have to say we had a Dyson once, it was utter carp. Ridiculously heavy and couldn't suck the skin off a rice pudding. And yes it was cleaned out regularly.

Ive had my henry for donkeys years too.

Cant fault them. I used to work at a place that mended vacuum cleaners and can honestly say that 90% of the ones that were
brought in were all sorts of Dysons, I wouldnt have one given to be honest.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Ours was given. We soon found out why. Rather than us inflict it on someone else it went in a skip.

Since Dyson have nearly half the UK vacuum cleaner market, you'd expect to see more of them in a repair shop than any other model...
Other than a blown motor, there is very little to go wrong with them except user-inflicted issues-which usually means failure to clean the filters (and, longer term, clogged cyclones).
