Read the policy it says holds licence or has held.

    Have you seen it?

    Course not.

    However most do state that.

If you didn't disclose the points as well as the revoked licence they may take a dimmer view!
Depending on the exact dates, if the points were from 2006 they may well not have needed to be declared, of course.

Mine (Admiral) says "holds". Nothing about "or has held". I believe they're the exception rather than the rule, but such policies do exist.

Standard insurance terms say that X and Y are insured to drive the car providing they hold/have held a licence and are not disqualified from doing so.

You may be disqualified from doing so, so you are not insured to drive that car, but you haven't driven it so that's ok.

May have to go to the FSO if you draw attention to the fact that your licence is revoked but really I'd just keep my mouth shut, the status of your licence is not relevant to the fact that the car got stolen, you did not drive the car to the location it was stolen from and if your licence had been in good order it would not have prevented the car from being stolen.

The OP's licence was revoked, they were not disqualified.

Even if they were disqualified, it still wouldn't matter. I said "may be disqualified" because we don't know the actual outcome of the court case other than "convicted in OPs absence" and "fine". It could have been a fine and a 10 year ban for all we know, though I admit this is highly unlikely for a speeding offence.

DVLA would not ask the OP to send a form D1 and they 'would be able to drive again by the end of the week' if they had been disqualified. (post no.4)

It was revoked because I didn't send them my paper licence to be endorsed with 3 points from a speed camera
Obviously he wasn't disqualified if he got 3 points - unless he was a totter. In any event the chances of getting a ten year ban for speeding are somewhere between nil and zero. You have to be trying quite hard to get that long for killing someone while drunk.

Bloody hell, I was just exaggerating to make a point!

The point being that no matter what the status of the OPs driving licence, it has no bearing on the car being stolen or not.

It might make a difference as to whether the Insurance company would have issued the policy in the first place
