Hi
I volunteer and for obvious reasons, we do not give our personal mobile number to clients so we all had numbers stored with 141 in front.
Just received an email to say that this no longer works and the with hold number option is now #31#. As I had not seen any media coverage about this, I was surprised. Have I completely missed this or was there any coverage?

I had a problem whereby Orange was divulging my number to the called party when I followed its instructions to prefix the dialled number with 141. This happened only when I was roaming on T-Mobile. Orange thereby breached Section 11 of the Telecommunications (Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999. Which network are you on?0

Depending on networks, a lot of mobile phones these days have an option to with hold number on all calls. It's usually somewhere in the settings.0

141 is ONLY the code authorised for landline UK networks. SOME mobile networks supported this but it is non standard - you should only set the CLI settings from the proper menu to release or show your number. As it stands, if you took your mobile abroad, all your stored numbers would fail.
I have all my numbers stored with the correct +44 codes, as it saves hassles when travelling and in sending texts.0
