Moving from Orange Contract to PAYG

Hi,

I have an Orange iphone 30 contract, which has just come to an end and I'm thinking of switching to T-Mobile's PAYG or possibly their sim-only pay monthly contract (12 months), which is only £10.50 per month for an improved package.

Can I do this while keeping my existing number? If so, what do I need to do, and in what order?

To terminate your contract you have to give 30 days notice.
Get PAC from Orange. It lasts for 30 days. Get T-mobile PAYG and give PAC to T-mobile. They will port the number from Orange and this will terminate your Orange contract. You pay for 30 days to Orange regardless of when you port the number.

unlock needed for network change. You can ask Orange if they will give you the codes to do this for which they may charge. Or you could get it done eslewhere for a charge.
