Don't know if this is the right page but had to praise a lady who has just saved me a lot of time, hassle & money.
I couldn't find my purse on Friday night following a looooong walk home. I assumed that I had left it at work as I had been in a rush to catch my train.
Anyway got into work this morning no purse. Hoped that my TL had picked it up after I had left and put it somewhere but nope she hadn't seen it.
I was gutted the purse was brand new and expensive (treat from OH) it had my work pass (£15 to replace plus it had £20 on it for meals at work ect), credit cards, debit cards, £20 and all my loyalty cards in there.
I was just about to start ringing to get replacement cards ect and try and find a replacement purse before OH found out when one of the women I work with said she had a lady on the phone who had something that belonged to me. Turned out she had found it in the street on friday evening.
She had gone out of her way to track me down including ring my cc companies to get them to ring me (they refused ) She found my work past went on to the internet to find the closest office to where she found it and this was back up by a post office receipt I had in there.
She then rang my office first thing to let me know she had it :T
What a gem! I'm going to her work tonight to pick it up along with a bunch of flowers for her trouble & also I'm thinking £10 for her trouble :j

Wonderful news, its good to know that there still are people out there with honest morals. You know her biggest reward will be your gratitude regardless of any reward.
However a bunch of flowers will certainly brighten up her day.
A couple of weeks back I found a mobile phone, a txt message from the owners concerned Mother was on it as to why she (the daughter) had not returned her calls.
I replied to the txt to inform them I had their phone on me, after further discussions I posted the phone to her, she requested a forwarding address to cover postage, but I remained anonymous by asking her to use the postage to do likewise if she was to find someone's missing items.
Should I lose my phone, I would hope someone would return it to me, it would not be so much the phone as phones are replaceable, but the sim cards and contacts can be very difficult to get back. My reward was her satisfaction in knowing that there are morally honest folk out there, who are happy to return such items.

Funny Marleyboy I said something similar to her on the phone. I think I said something along the lines like "I hope if you have something similar happens to yourself that someone helps you as much as you have helped me today" she seemed genuinely shocked that she had helped me so much
I know what you mean about the phone I have photos on there that I would be devistated to loseFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
OH and DS found TWO mobiles within the space of an hour on holiday last year, the first belonged to a teenage boy who'd left it on a bench. He was reunited with it half an hour later thanks to a quick call to 'Mum'.
The second was a local baker who'd left his phone on his van roof and driven off, it flew off as he turned the corner and OH actually caught the thing mid air! DS and OH returned the phone to his wife in the shop, a shop I add full of cakes and sandwiches. I really thought she'd have at least given them a 50p cupcake but no.0 -

I remember when my Brother was around 11yrs old, (1981), he turned up at the door with a Policeman in tow. "Oh gosh whats he done?" was my Mothers first thought.
The Officer explained that my Brother had approached him with a £10 note he had found on the Street. (which in the 80s was a lot of money), the officer decided that as he had been such a good boy and did the right thingm that he was allowing him to keep the money and wanted to inform her of his windfall.
Is it just me that thinks its generally moneysavers, who struggle to get by on what little they have, who seem the most honest people when it comes to returning lost property?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Excellent story but not sure why the angry smiley because your credit card company would not give out details about you to a complete stranger."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
