Just another point, seeing as I do loads of work that is not part of my JD I'm thinking of saying I'm no longer going to do it. I mean if they think we are surplus to requirements and I'll be made redundant regardless why should I help out so much?

I applied for one job and on top of that I also roster 50% of a full roster clerks workload? I'm making life very easy for them at the moment.

Try to avoid saying "NO" it's not my job you don't need reasons to be added to you have to go.

Just delay, offload, too busy etc any thing that is put on you.

focus on things that matter and are definately your work,

Be ready to pick up if higher up bosses or key things will be visible.

    Solving other peoples failures.

Anyone that relies on you for things an approach is to say, Oh we are being made redundant you better ask your boss who will be doing this when we are gone.

Don't refer them to your boss you need their bosses making the noises.

edit: one other thing make sure priorities are documented

Sorry mixed up two queries that were independant.

I just wonder if somehow someone has found out your plans, but you never know family, friends, GP. sometimes links exists you just don't know about.

probably unlikely since they are making steps to keep one of you and imposible to prove unless someone has been stupid and documented it.

    Independant of that

I wondered if the interloper has been working on getting their position permanent, best way for them was to get your office shut down and may have seeded/supported the idea.

Your boss is probably scared they will be the next victim of this union strong person.

As they are Union they may influence the union position on supporting you to keep your office open.
