mobile contract

I have a contract with 3 mobile which doesn't end till Jan14, but for 3 months I have not been able to get a signal even when sat with others on 3 who have full signal and have been discussing/sorting this with them for what seems like forever, I have sent my iphone back and had it replaced only to find the replacement didn't work. I travelled over 60 miles to the closest apple shop and had the phone changed again... and it still doesn't work! 3 are saying there is nothing wrong with network and must be phone, apple are saying is network problem so am piggy in middle. is there any way i can get out of this as am paying for a mobile phone that never works?

Generally '3' have to sort this out as a supplier of both the handset and the service, but as Apple exchanged the handset supplied by '3' I don't know where you stand now.
I have not been able to get a signal even when sat with others on 3 who have full signal
I think switching the sims could have helped to find out whether it is the handset's fault or network's.

Its likely to be a problem on your networks systems, a friend had the same issue as you as tier 3 tech support resolved it
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • I have changed sim and still the same problem. I have also tried putting the sim in other phones and works fine. I really don't know much about how phones work so I just have to go with what 3 and apple tell me but am getting really confused now

    Is it an iPhone 4?

I'm not clear whee the problem lies - you say you moved, so you may be in an area where coverage is limited or non-existant. What do their coverage maps state for your location? Next, put the SIM into another handset - does this work? Lastly, take yor iPhone into an urban area where it shows good coverage. Does it work now?

Only by knowing the results to the above can you discern what is REALLY going on!

And the OP has never said that it was iPhone.

iPhone was mentioned in the OP

My thinking was that if it is an iPhone 4 and it hasn't got a bumper (case) on it, it could be the cause of the signal problems the OP describes, iPhone 4 signal issues are well documented.

2 months after I purchased my iPhone 4 back in August 2010 it became defective. It went from itermitent to dead in 3 days.

after 10+ calls to three customer services I recieved a 2 week credit to my account. An account with a dead iPhone, really handy.

After 2 weeks and an imaginery visit from three to pick up my phone and repair they put me through to Apple who collected and replaced the phone within 3 days. That phone lasted me around 21 months before I sold it recently.

    Moral of my story is.

Three = bad and useless, generally down to the poor grasp of the english language.
Apple = superb, reliable and fixed my problem in the quickest time possible.

I find it hard to believe you could have had 2 iPhones with the exact same problem. I had my iPhone 4 without a bumper case for the majority of my contract and had a fine signal.

I think you could have a defective sim card.

I know you touched upon this above can you clarify the following:

Have you tried your Three sim card in another Three handset (iPhone and another handset using microsim adapter)?

    Outcome?

Have you tried someone elses Three sim card in your iPhone (would have to be another microsim)?

    Outcome?
