I have just received an email my tickets were resold successfully but I haven't physically received them as I chose to collect from Stratford office.

Does anyone know if I have to still pick them up and then return them by post to actually get the refund?

    If so, it is ridiculous.
At the very least, surely the collection office should be able to accept returns directly?

I have emailed this query but I am guessing response time could be weeks.

Calling is also not very appealing as I do not want to be on hold for an hour.

Seeing they have advised up to 28 days to return money, how much money are they making on the extra money that are not theirs due to the resale process?

In he exact same situation and send them a query this morning. Given that quie a few people hve reported having their CC refunded almost immediately I'm getting worried that they haven't the sense to have sorted out the "will collect" resold tickets.

I dont even understand why we have to physically return the tickets to get the refund.
Surely they should be invalid so will be of no use to anyone?
Once resold, we should get the refund ASAP without all these extra hoops.
Do i really have to go to the post office and return as recorded delivery? What nonsense or have they budgeted for this as extra income?

I assume they don't want ticket lines held up with duplicate tickets. It's a pain but I don't see how it's extra income for Locog.

Every time they resell a ticket, it's obviously extra money coming into their bank account. If they insist that people don't get their refund until they return the tickets (and even then up to 28 days), they would be earning quite a deal of interest on the same ticket being resold perhaps 3 or more times.
As for the queues being held up by duplicate tickets, the owners know the tickets are invalid so it would just the usual small minority trying to be fraudulent and not some avalanche that would overwhelm the ticket lines.

Spoke to them this morning. If the tickets are not yet printed (ie all those down for "will collect") then you don't need to worry about returning anything to LOCOG.

Would still like to see something posted back on to the credit card mind you.

The extra money is a tiny amount of interest. Hardly a major revenue stream especially since Locog has presumably had to pay TFL for the rail tickets. Are there many tickets being resold 3 or more times?

I cannot see why a ticket being resold at least 3 times is that unlikely? Most people got tickets in the initial rounds for sports that were very low on their preferences. Assuming these people have a budget, and given the stream of latest ticket release rounds and if the resale market is as convenient as it ought to be, why wouldn't many be buying and re-selling old tickets to get closer to what they want?

I suppose I can only speak from my experience which is that I haven't returned any because I haven't applied for tickets I can't afford. But if it is a vital revenue stream for Locog, as you say (28 days interest current rates on a few hundred thousand tickets, balanced against the considerable administrative costs?), surely that's a good thing and will ultimately reduce the cost of the Games?

Credit card refunded today for a "will collect" resale. Happy now!

I resell mine to move seats! If a better seat at the same price range comes up, I request ticket, resell the original and then complete the purchase of the new ticket (if you don't resell first you need to wait a few days before being able to resell it)
