Repossessed House - Electricity and Gas Supply
Comments
-
Hey everyone thanks for your replies
paddedjohn - a cap on the supply, not that the bills are capped.
I was hoping it was just a case of switching it on but the current supplier (scottish hydro) said that it's been "capped at the supply" by the property management company. Because it wasn't capped by them they wont touch it.
I have a gas engineer who will come and uncap it and test the boiler for £40. he wont touch the fire or cooker though.
Will be taking out the boiler cover with British gas going forward but just want to get it checked straight away.0 -

Spot on, the flat I'm renovating at the moment was a repo and the previous owners where a nightmare. Apparently now held up at her Majesty's pleasure for drug dealing
They thought it would be funny to disconnect a few pipes. Obviously our neighbours below didn't find it funny !! So make sure you have a plumber there when you turn it on. Also watch out for the electrics as our's were in a right mess, they were nicking the leccy from the communal areas (probably to grow their drugs !).
Just glad we paid bottom dollar ! Still haven't had all the floorboards up, wonder what I'll find under there ! good luck0
