i am checking in 1 case so need to go to check-in desk so may be asked to put it in the cage thing :(

They also have a cage by the gate so even without checked luggage there's a risk you will be asked to fit your bag in there. EasyJet's dimensions are quite generous so it should be no problem finding a bag that doesn't exceed them.

hi thanks everyone seems a mixed response :) i am checking in 1 case so need to go to check-in desk so may be asked to put it in the cage thing :( if i see a smaller bag on offer i'll buy it as don't need the extra worry. thanks again guys

Is it a hard or soft case? I know with some you can easily compress them by 2cm to get them in the cage if required (though obviously that wouldn't work if you over-fill it!).

I wouldn't worry too much (though nothing can ever be taken as gospel, when it comes to budget airlines and their policies!) if it's just a case of being 2cm too 'tall'.

You do see loads of people cramming obscenely oversized bags into the cages, and the order of the day seems to be if you can get it in and out of the cage, no matter how much effort it takes, it's usually OK :)

Your situation sounds to be the opposite, i.e. can fit in widthways, but is a teeny bit too tall. Don't worry, but do keep your purse/wallet handy, just in case! :)
