Don't overlook your Human Rights, these include the right to liberty. If taking your car condemns you to being a prisoner in your own home, then you might have a case against the OR.

Collected the GP letter today. It says what physical and mental difficulties I have and states that I need the car to access the necessary health care and how shopping would be impossible without the car as I can't manage public transport. It also says my physical and mental health would deteriorate without the use of a car. I have photocopied my blue badge and the card which says I am registered disabled (Mental Health) and have scanned and emailed them to the named person at the IS and will now post the hard copies off. I just emailed them as he'd said I would need to be quick if I was to save the car and it has taken so long to get the GP letter which was crucial so email stuff across and said I will send them in the post too.

I am really hoping this is enough to save the car. I've since discovered my car is only worth scrap which is about £50 so worth little to the OR but worth far more to me.

How long will it be before I hear whether or not I can keep the car? I shall fret about it until then.

Make sure you take a copy of the GP's letter for your own files, just in case. Post the letters off to the OR recorded delivery.

Not sure how long they will take to come back to you but if you haven't had a letter of exemption for the car within two weeks then fire off an email to the OR. It is that letter that is the I
    Portent thing to have.

Still not heard anything about the car. It has faults that need fixing before I drive it far but don't even want to take it to a garage to get a quote until I know I can keep it. I think I might email the OR today as I am housebound until it is fixed.

Got a reply. It's exempt and I should get something in the post soon. So I can now see about getting quotes in order to get it going again at least.

Will the car exemption letter come with any other info about my BR? I've not heard anything since my phone interview, is that normal and time just now ticks along until ED?AD? Or should I get written confirmation of any decisions the IS has made. I feel very in the dark as to how creditors are responding or of any decisions made. I feel as if my life is in someone else's hands and I am powerless to do anything about it and am just waiting to hear my punishment.
