hi
thanks for replies
just had a woman offer to buy via paypal
so she is giving me the cash not me giving her
is that ok?
i woulndt send the goods until im sure of money
please help
she has sent her paypal address?
Paypal offers protection to the buyer not the seller. If you have someone wishing to pay cash on collection then accept, even if you do as I suggested earlier & meet them at your bank & get them to pay it direct to your account.0 -

Paypal is too risky, once you have received payment an unscrupulous buyer can then tell paypal they didn't authorise the transaction and get their money back and you are minus the goods and the cash and there is nothing you can do about it.
Gumtree has an advice section which will keep you safe if you take heed.

I suppose the same could happen on eBay when ending a listing early for a buyer and sending the buyer an invoice for the agreed total?A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

Gumtree seems to get more than it's fair share of scammers. It doesn't even seem to be for high end goods either, I put some shoes on there & had someone who's Uncle had been desperately searching for some exactly like it & was working in an African orphanage, would pay loads more than the asking price etc etc.
Accept cash on collection & don't even bother exchanging emails with people who try & get you to post or accept any other payment than cash.0
