Dinner today will be chicken jambalaya, my first attempt at making it so fingers crossed ... my cooking skills are not greatand I have a tin of pineapple and some baking basics so am going to attempt pineapple upside down cake
Well what a difference a few hours makes. Awake at 5.30 am pouring rain and blowing a gale. Fell asleep about 8am and woke at 11.45  but obviously needed the sleep. Opened the curtains to glorious sun and its been lovely all day. Sorted some clothes for charity bag and some for cleaning rags. Pottered in garden. Still cant get online. Jambalaya was a success but not sure if I like chorizo, so not sure I would make again. Enough left over for 2 lunches anyway.
The pineapple upside down cake was however a great success !! So easy to make if anyone wants recipe
cream 2oz sugar with 2oz butter/spread
slowly add 1 beaten egg
fold in 3oz self raising flour
add 1 tablespoon of pineapple juice from tin
Put pineapple chunks in bottom of small pyrex bowl
Drizzle over 1 tablespoon golden syrup
Cover with cake mixture
Cling film over and make hole in centre
Microwave on medium-high for 5 mins (my MW 1000w)
It was delishenough for at least 4 servings

Evening all
Nice lazy-ish day. Spent a lot of it reading on my Kindle, and watched the F1. Also died my hair.
OS wise - made big batch of saag aloo curry, small batch of HM pizza sauce, packed lunch for tomorrow. Hoovered, tidied. WM been on and clothes more or less dried outside inbetween the showers!

Evening all, not done much today as woke up with a massive migraine so after walking Jack went back to bed and slept until 1pm. Feel better now but washed out. Same thing happened last sunday so feel a bit fed up. Still not long until long summer holiday so can catch up with myself then. Had a good day at my sisters yesterday, their new house is lovely and it was nice to see them both stress free at last.
Hope everyone has had a good day, hope you are all feeling better at your house Bitsy and that you all had a good day at yours HH. Hope you've had a good birthday Meanmarie
Hugs to all in need and welcome to Skint yet again.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Evening everyone
not managed to get on the last couple of days, it has been the village weekend, so friday night was the village ball with ladies in dresses and men in black tie dinner suits in a marquee with meal and band it was fab. Sat night was family night with band and disco which was also good. during the day there has been events too, so quite tired tonight. All money raised goes back into the village and keeps the village hall going too. However today I have felt like i am coming down with a cold as have got a really sore throat and headache.

Just home from lovely dinner with DS3, DDIL2 and DGS1...have had a good day, did no work of any kind, read paper from cover to cover, had nice breakfast and several cups of tea made for me, have had flowers, chocs and an ipad thingy....DDIL2 has spent over an hour setting it up for me so will have to have a play around myself over next few days....can bring it to Oz and be able to keep in touch.
Many thanks for all the good wishes here and on Facebook, being 67 is ok so far!
Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies and thank you all for being my friends

meanmarie Hope you have had a great birthday honey and been thoroughly spoilt
Comiserations to all the England fans Have just got home from DDs where we were all yelling at the t.v. Italy deserved to win, as sadly our lads were outclassed by a better team, still roll on 2016.Maybe we will have some slightly ...erm younger chaps, or is that idea too radical:)
Did some painting and some baking and had a superb dinner of roast beef with all the trimmings at DDs house, (came home with some left over roasties and veg which will make me something tomorrow night)with HM raspberry pavlova very yummy
Also tomorrow DGS Ben sprung it on his Mum tonight that his school chums have a 'leavers party ' for the ones who are leaving, and although he's staying on to go into 6th form, its next Sunday and can she get him a suit by then !!!! Tomorrow Ben and I are going to Chatham to see if he can hire one by next week-end otherwise he will be going in smart casual stuff instead . Love how kids think you can just trot off and find a suit just like that !!!! His Mums not too pleased, but we will have a look tomorrow and see what's available for him He is around 5'10" and thin as a rake (all arms and legs, bless him)
DGS Danny is still very sad about him and his GF splitting up, I think she wants her head looking at ,but then I am more than a bit biased when it comes to our Danny
Well time for bed and a read I think. I am reading Blood Sweat and Tea on my Kindle and its a hoot
Good night god bless all here
