Sistercas enjoy London.
Moorhen golly you make me feel tired....I am conscious of slowing down now I am a couple of years off 60. How did that happen? JackieO so what's your secret?
Tappers I would like a campervan too and I drool over VW vans. We have said if DH gets made redundant this year we might hire one and tour Scotland. Then I saw the prices........!
hi Skint I can never keep bacon in the fridge for long as DS snacks on it. LOL and as for biscuits!!
RR I keep trying to reduce carbs. How do you do it?
Essex-girl compulsary lazy day here too as DH has gone to help model railway club vacate existing premises. Cue big rant from me over breakfast.
HH you are lovely to DD's foster children.
Well have a good day all. I have put washing in the machine and there will be cottage pie and gooseberry crumble for tea as I bought some nice punnets of gooseberries in Wells market yesterday. Our own aren't ready yet.
Hugs to those who would like one.

A sunny good morning to Hester and all from me this morning. What a beautiful day, blue skies and sunshine. Just what we need for a lovely Sunday.
For those of you who are struggling with your diet this weekend. I feel your pain. Yesterday whilst hubby went to the bank and i wandered off elsewhere, he decided to treat me to breakfast via Greggs the bakery. Two sausage rolls and a cream cake. Not the sort of thing one normally has for breakfast and every mouthfull i visualized going on my hips/thighs/arms/legs and everywhere else really. Not that i should complain as it made a change from Weetabix but boy did i feel stuffed all day.Am getting fed up with my DS (17 yo) complaining theres no food in the house. There is food, it just takes a bit of effort to make something, rather than disposable food he can just shovel in and I am refusing to make snacks for him as hes old enough....
I am going through the same with my youngest. I was out early yesterday and didnt do the usual cooked breakfast before i left the house. I got back at 4pm or thereabouts and my youngest still hadnt fed himself. No excuse! There was cereal/bread/bacon/sausage eggs and thereabouts in the fridge/cupboards. His excuse was he didnt know if i was coming back to do the usual full English breakfast. 'I would have thought you would have realized hours ago that i wasnt going to be in for breakfast' i replied. Like i said, no excuse, he could have phoned me, could have made himself something but he couldnt be bothered.
Meanmarie, have a lovely birthday.
Bitsy i hope you and the family feel better soon.
Dont know what we are doing today. It wont be spent indoors though, we'll probably go out somewhere.
After a heart to heart last weekend hubby and i have got a few issues discussed and settled. We both seem a lot happier and long may it continue! Rediculous isnt it.... married for over 27 years and still having to work at being married?

Still rotten weather here, its like autumn-the driveway is littered with leaves,& twigs and a branch came off the horse chestnut on Friday teatime during what seemed like a mini tornado:eek:DH is sat in the conservatory reading the Sunday paper, but its freezing in there.
We are definately having a roast for our tea, need to find out whether DS1 will be here,in which case chicken,if not a rolled turkey breast as it won't do 4.I might make a cake as we dont have anything in for pudding.I can never decide what to make though
Havent posted for a few days,as have been out and about, and yesterday we had DGD,which was lovely. We took her to the little park in between showers, once we'd figured out how to turn the pram into a pushchair,as she likes having a good nosey now.:rotfl:Once she'd gone I made some handmade cards including one for Sis-i-l birthday next week.My other SIL has sold a few of my creations
No specific plans for today, apart from watching England tonight-hope they win.

Judi- glad you and hubby have sorted a few things out and are happier.
Taplady,we're camper van wannabees too, they just seem really expensive ,but I'd love to be able to just take off,and we have some lovely countryside not far away. One day....(well we can dream)

Afternoon All
Hope you all feel better soon Bitsy, don't worry about the house, it will still be there when you are all better!
FB, I too have a cough left from a cold and it is really beginning to annoy me!
I'm with you all on the camper van vote, how good would it be to just drive away for the weekend?
Not much going on here, washing on the line for a change, hope it dries before I go to work at 5. I need to walk to work as DS2 still has my car and DD doesn't finish work till 5.30, the 2 mile walk will do me good I suppose, just hope it doesn't rain.
Hope you all enjoy your Sundays. Take care. XX0 -

Very basically, dont eat, potatoes, bread, pasta, rice, crackers, anything high in carbs at all, most thinks have it on the packet now, nothing sweet, and no fruit for the first while, also a lot of veg has heavy carbs in, so watch what you eat there.
You can eat unlimited meat, fish, eggs and some cheese each day, but be careful of processed sausages etc as these contain high carbs, you are better of with the posher sausages etc, as these have a low carb content.
There is a thread on here somewhere, and there in loads in info on the web, let me know if you need help xx0 -
Hi all
5 mins time-out between doing my spreadsheets (finance ones plus next week's meal plan) and whatever looks like being the next urgent task.
*Forms orderly queue to borrow JackieO's DGS Ben*:D My front garden is in dire need of a good seeing-to; Mr LW hates gardening, and I'm too scared to go out there on my own, so it tends to not get done.
Hoppy Birdday Meanmarie:beer:
Bitsy GWS mate.
Mr LW has just conquered Mount Ironmore.:A
Physio-terrorist wants me to wear wrist-splints. I don't want to as they drive me demented. She says I have carpal tunnel syndrome, so add to my list of defects.:( I also have a weird exercise to do for my shoulder, involving a towel.
Sidny Schnauzer went home yesterday afternoon. True to form, he planted his little bottom firmly on the carpet and refused to budge, so the dog-sitting company agent scooped him up and carried him!:rotfl: I hope to goodness I get to see him again; he seemed quite perky by the end of his stay (I put a lot of time and effort into getting him eating) but he's getting very doddery now, and is nearly blind; and the diabetes is getting worse, judging by the fact that the vet has increased his twice-daily dose of insulin from 7 to 8 units.
I have two weeks dogless now (unless I get a short-notice booking) then Dilly the Westie will be arriving on July 7th.:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all,
Been AWOL for a few days, Isle of Wight festival ahs been on, and although we didn,t go this year, things pretty much grind to a halt for a few days, felt so sorry for those arriving Thusday/Friday, huge tailbacks etc due to the poor weather, and poorer organisation, if any of you made it over, please beleive this is no reflection of the Island, its generally a laidback and lovely place and hope you had a fab time, if somewhat muddy.
OS has gone out of the window, except for the saving of £800 + by the family not going this year, we made up for it by having a pub meal out friday, opposite the festival site, met lots of lovely people, then Sat night went to a BBQ at friends, still recovering from that
Will get back into the ways of OS this week though, have bought some weird military style meat in spaceage packaging from App food, !mince, chicken and beef - intend to make cottage pie etc with the mince, but no idea what the chicken or beef will look like till I open them - feels a bit like blind date but with food...... It won,t go to waste though.:D
Will have a read back at the threads now. !Hope your all well and have had a restful weekend xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
