Help with nightmare buyer

You have to be really clear in your terms, because whenever you put collection only there will always be some numpty who decides they will buy it anyway and send a courier. Previously I have stated that if someone wants to pay for a courier, fine, but I won't obtain quotes up front if I have hundreds of people asking and I won't accept a courier that hasn't been booked my me because of the damage/loss risk.
I would let it run now - let them send the courier, and hopefully they won't take it. Check that you have met their packaging requirements just in case. Or maybe fail to meet their requirements, so that they can't take it....?I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Hi All,
I need some more help regarding this buyer because really worried now.
I decided to go with the courier and take the risk he had already said at one point leave out the smaller speakers if you have to so I boxed up the stereo and the 2 larger speakers leaving the 2 smaller out as there was no way courier would take it and I could not get boxes big enough to fit it all into 3. I sent him a message asking him to confirm again that he was happy with this yesterday morning. Late last night I got an email back saying he was sick of messages and to just leave it.
My reply said fine I will leave it refund the paypal payment and cancel the transaction. Didn't hear back so this morning did the refund and cancelled the transaction through Ebay.
I have just got home this evening to 4 emails from him as below:
Email 1 at 21.07: I said forget about the small speakers ok.
Email 2 at 21.33: Well after all this paying for the parcels, sending the labels to you via email and on post you cancels this transation, are you normal or do you have a problems with your self or sick?
Email 3 at 22.20: I want to hear from you before i will leave powerful feedback on you becasue you will not be able to sale anything with that account again?
Email 4 at 22.33:When giving me your address are sleeping then?you will balance me the money i have spend on the booking of that parcels £26 because you will pay it in one way or the order ok.
I am really worried he does have my address but he is the one that said forget it last night and I haven't seen a courier today so assumed he had cancelled it as per hjis forget it email. He does obviously have my address and I'm quite worried by this obvious lunatic.
I will speak to Ebay in the morning but apart from ban him what can they do?
Is there anything else I should do? Im not usually a vnervous person but I was burgled a few months ago and have been suffering a lot with panic attacks since then and this has really got to me. No more Ebaying for me.
Many Thanks in advance and apologies font went mad halfway through and I dont know how to change it.

Report him to ebay, you'll lose the FVF.
It does sound as though he wanted you to cancel the transaction.
If you've got the labels log onto the courier co & see what it says for the parcels he booked & the t&c's for cancellation.0 -
Thank you.
Have just had a quick look but it says contact them to cancel a delivery if its later than the day on which payment and booking was made and I can't find any more at a quick look.
As far as I am concerned his message said forget it which I took as being the whole thing which to be honest I was annoyed about all I wanted was it on email clearly saying leave the small speakers so that he couldn't go to Ebay and say I didn't send it all. I had spent ages getting boxes and wrapping it up as securely as i could taking into account it was already on the limit of the size and weight the courier would take. I assumed he had cancelled collection yesterday already.
Its more the I will pay one way or another thats got me worried, I will speak to Ebay in the morning and hopefully they will at least block him from the site surely you can't go making what amounts to a physical threat bearing in mind he mentions having my address and will pay one way or another although I suppose thats just my paranoid panicky side coming out.0 -
Someone else came on last week saying that she was threatened by a disgruntled ebayer & we all advised her to go to the Police, I'd print off the email threatening you & go speak to the Police.0

Thank you for that.
I have just spoken to Ebay and they were beyond useless said the 'You will pay one way or another' email after mentioning he has my address does not class to them as a threat. All they have said is if he leaves negative feedback to give them a call as they may be able to look at removing it but other than that nothing at all.
They are useless you can send abusive emails and threats as you want on Ebay apparantly and they wont even close the persons account so potentially more people get subjected to it.
I am not happy at all but I will have a word with the community police officer and see what he says.0 -
On_My_Lonesome wrote: »Hi,
Apologies such a long story.
I have been clearing out the house and selling a few bits on Ebay. One of the items that finished last weekend was a large stereo stack system with speakers that I advertised a collection in person.
The winning bidder lives in London and i am in Manchester. I emailed straight after auction finished asking what he wanted to do about collection and he said he wanted to send a courier. Even though this meant boxing it up which I didn;t really want to do (hence advertising as collection in person) I felt I had to agree rather than risk bad feedback.
He emailed asking if Ok to collect on Wednesday and I agreed to an evening collection as long as he had paid by Monday evening so I knew was going paid for and to give me time to get boxes. He didn't pay until Thursday night so that collection never happened.
I have told him countless times in emails that it will need to be 4 boxes as too big for any less, today he told me has booked a courier for Monday as agreed and booked 2 boxes! No way it will fit in 2 boxes so again told him that. He has now increased it to 3 and said leave out the sattelite speakers. Is this putting myself open to ebay problems?
The other problem is that when I have looked at the courier that he is using the big speakers and main stereo will be above the maximum size for their parcels and the spereo will be above the weight limit for the, I have told him this but he just replies saying it will be fine. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I do if the courier arrives and refuses to take the boxes? I am really wary of receiving bad feedback as have 100% at the moment and even 1 negative or neutral would hit me hard as I have only sold a few things.
Having looked at his feedback it appears he does this sort of thing with a lot of purchases can I report him to Ebay once this is all finished?
Sorry for going on I hope that all makes sense and thanks in advance
When I sell stuff to be collected, I put item to be collected, strictly pickup only, no courier arrangements. This avoids those people 99% of the time.0 -
Thank you.
You live and learn I will be doing that in future but as i have only just started selling on Ebay I thought I was doing right thing by trying to keep buyer happy and he had won so felt obliged to go along with his request. It won't happen again if I use Ebay for selling again at the moment its put me off totally.0 -
Did you speak to eBay on the phone or via email. I've always found when I've actually got to speak to someone they've been quite helpful, but perhaps I've been lucky.0

I've had this in the past, they all go hot headed then you never hear from them again, if you refund, then they give you a negative, go to Ebay chat and request negative removal, it worked for me in the past because when you refund it reverts back to item unpaid. Also block them, do you know how to blocK? If not I'll send you a link.0
