Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

There was vacancy in the SE about 3 weeks back.0 -
All NHS vary so being told that it works like this or that is not useful. I have applied for several jobs in the NHS. Some will take 6 weeks to shortlist and just when you've given up you get an interview. Four weeks seems to be quite usual. Some will tell you if you're unsuccessful and some will not, that varies. More and more now will advertise on the NHS jobs site but want you to apply on their own webform on their website. These are a pain because they are very long and take ages to fill in.0

Fair enough I won't bother giving any more apparently useless advice.
Good luck to the OP I hope you're successful in your job search and secure a position soon.

Hi CS,
YOU gave ME a little bit of USEFUL advice which I very much appreciate. And I will be applying your advice to my future job applications rather than rattling on about the same thing. I will tailor my words and use the skills I have to the specific job desc.
Therefore please do bother to give "more apparently useless advice". Because I found it very useful.
In other words don't let some other mse'rs put you off,;)0 -
Thanks Slick. My PM box is always open if you need any further useless advice:D

They are absolutely right though, every trust and every bit of the NHS is separate and different, so there's absolutely no point generalising.
For example, you said only shortlisted applicants are contacted. That's definitely not true everywhere, as I can attest thanks to bitter experience!0 -
