Hi lovely peeps im in the process of super actively seeking a JOB!!:j
What is the NHS recruitment process??
After how long do they respond?
And do they tell you if you are not successful?
Applied for about 20 jobs with them in the last ten days and not had anything back apart from the automated reply saying they have received my app..

What I mean is do they tell you if you have been unsuccessful or do they just ignore you and not respond as it has been about 10+ days and I have not had a single reply???!!0

Most tell you, there is the facility to do so on the NHS Jobs website, but some still do not. You really cannot generalise for such a massive organisation!0 -

I checked on their website all it says is that all applications have been submitted.

I think you can safely assume that you have not been shortlisted if you don't hear within 3 weeks (by which time the interviews are usually done and dusted); extend that a little if you apply over the summer. Some organisations are better than others and will have the courtesy to keep you up-to-date via the NHSjobs message service, but most won't simply because there isn't the time. Instead it's more common to see a statement on the original ad "if you have had no response...". It's down to the recruiting manager, and to a lesser extent the recruitment team.

I work for the NHS and unfortunately you will only get a response if you've been shortlisted for interview.
The process works like this:
If an advert closes on, say, 25th June as a recruiting manager I won't get to see the applications until 26th or 27th June due to the way the system works.
I'll then review all of the applications and short list those applications which demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria of the job advertised (the person specification should detail what they are).
I generally won't want to interview more than around 10 applicants per job so may try to whittle the short list down further by looking at the other non-essential criteria of the job. However, if that can't be done then I'll just interview everyone on the shortlist.
I work in quite a specialised area so I don't generally get tons of people who make the short list.
The most important thing when doing your application is to make sure you tailor your skills and experience to what the job requires because that is all the recruiter has to judge you by!

Aaaahhh many thanks for that lovely piece of advice Ive been sending the same CV to everyone from applying for customer services to paramedic.:rotfl::rotfl:...I think I have to change my sketch and write it so my current experience matches jobs Im applying for.

The thing is your skills, qualifications, and experience are going to be the same whatever role you apply for. What changes is the emphasis you put on certain skills or experience depending on the job you're applying for.
