I have an account with RBS, had a nil balance ,no overdraft facility. Was waiting for money to be paid in on 22nd June. Early am 22nd the money wasn't in there -later in the day it was--so-paid out some online for a bill .Tried to use the card 23rd and was declined instore. Checked online and it shows up as overdrawn for the amount I have paid out --the money that was paid in has disappeared with no record of it having existed -so does anyone know where I stand? Tried to contact my branch by phone and no reply -may not be open today -main number is a recorded message -my branch is 20 miles away and I have no money or petrol in my car?

Have you not seen the news ? Theres been glitches with the groups banks.0 -
Yes I have seen the news -but I can't understand why the money was in there as expected and I was allowed to pay out from it =then it disappeared totally from all records and left me with an unapproved overdraft.:eek:Mutual Supporters club member (Nov 2006)

Apologies. Only thing i can suggest is call rbs(not your branch but the number for the call centre), maybe they can explain whats happened, i can only think that the glitch has something to do with it,0 -
RBS have an automated reply on their line and my local branch is 20 miles away and I don't think they are open anyway. Can't even get any money to drown my sorrows lol.:beer:Mutual Supporters club member (Nov 2006)

What is it you want/need?
Don't worry about being overdrawn or any charges, they will be refunded. So no need to do anything about that now.
Do you have a credit card? With RBS or elsewhere. If so then use that and charge any interest to RBS. Take a cash advance if you need to. RBS should refund you any costs you incur.
If in any doubt ring them. They may even be able apply for an arranged overdraft or something, so that you can take cash out.0 -
Your problem isn't dissimilar to what thousands of other RBS customers experienced - afraid, it sounds you have been caught in the general mess. Please check out the other thread0

...of course I am assuming that the payment issues are due to their current problems.
It may have been returned for other reasons? Do you know of any reason why this would have happened? Was the money expected?0 -
If you can make it to a Natwest branch, which is normally open Saturday, tomorrow between 9-12, then you can get some cash out.
Take a cheque book (if you have one), card and some photo ID (passport or driving license).
They can't check your balance but will allow you withdraw up to a certain limit. It's kind of up to you to know what should be in your account and to withdraw accordingly.
Check https://www.natwest.com for which branches near you are open on a Saturday normally and therefore will be open tomorrow morning.
Hope that helps.0 -

Yes the money was expected from a reliable source and it did show as being there-then disappeared.Mutual Supporters club member (Nov 2006)
