Another line of attack maybe? If this courtesy car was arranged through your insurance company complain to them about the admin charge being applied.

Its easy now to just ignore Poxbrough!;)

Yep, that bit should be easy now, just ignore Roxburghe/Graham White letters which are all shown in the third from top thread 'PPC letters & threats'. Just play snap with each one.

But you want your £30 back I would have thought, so go back over the advice already given on your thread when you get a denial reply from the hire co (which you may well do). You need to persist and go for a chargeback on the card they took the money from (unsolicited/unauthorised transaction).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Received a letter today from Graham White solicitors threatening to take legal action if i dont pay and to contact Roxburghe to confirm what i intend to do.

It also says if it does go to court I will have £207 additional costs to pay and that my credit rating will be affected.

Is this normal?? Do i still ignore???

Roxburghe and Graham White are the same firm. They just use different headed paper. Compare the squiggly signatures.

This is standard operational b*llsh*t. You may still ignore.

The more unpleasant threats usually include mentioning that, if the case goes to court, a county court judgement (CCJ) will be issued, that bailiffs will be appointed and that your credit rating will be ruined. For things to actually get to this stage, the car park owner would have to take you to court and win the case. Then you’d have to refuse to pay and, after 28 days, a CCJ would be issued. Then you’d still have to refuse to pay and bailiffs would be appointed.

There are also now two recent landmark court cases, VCS Parking Control vs. Ronald Ibbotson, S!!!!horpe, 2012 and VCS Parking Control vs. HM Revenue & Customs, Upper Tax Tribunal, 2012. In both cases, the judges ruled that only the car park owner can take drivers to court. The Upper Tax Tribunal is a court of record, equivalent to the High Court, and therefore its judgement sets a legal precedent.

Graham White are currently under investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for making these threats of legal action.

Have a look at the thread on here about the 845 court cases in 2011. Note, in that list, the absence of Mr White and his Roxburghe chums.

This is despite that fact that they appear to be the most prolific senders of these sorts of letters in the whole of the UK.

And yet not one case appeared in front of a judge in 2011, and no one is aware of any in 2012 either.

If bluffing was an Olympic Event, this lot would be limbering up for the opening ceremony by now...
