  • The big problem i have is the internet, the problem i have is everything in the world is on the internet. and 'everything in the world' has a tendency to be more interesting than what i'm typing at that point in time.

Forgive me if I don't get this right, first ever post. I also find it hard to get in the mood to study anywhere. Decided to stay at Uni but haven't managed yet - too much on! Get very distracted at home but it gets done in the end. Wish I was more disciplined!!!! Timetable all over the place, just seem to be wasting a lot of time not studying. Anyone - any suggestions?

Tell me about it! I took the day off work today (i'm a part-time student) with the intention of getting a large chunk of studying done. So what did I do? I cleaned, I vacuumed, I baked some muffins, I went to the supermarket - I even scrubbed the kitchen floor! And I hate housework!

It's not that the work is impossibly difficult - it's perfectly do-able, and it's not as if I hate my course - I love it! It's just, well, easier to clean and bake than it is to sit down and put all my notes and research and ideas into a coherent esssay. The stupid thing is once i've started an assignment there's usually no stopping me, and in the end I think 'why did I keep putting it off - I really enjoyed writing that'. Aaaaaghhh! I do think I work better under pressure though - I can't be one of these students that write their assignments weeks in advance (last time I left it til the last hour to hand it in! Talk about cutting it fine!) Maybe i'm an adrenaline junkie - or maybe i'm just a bit lazy.... ;)

I just cannot focus at college doing my assignment work on the computers there, and often dont. I much rather like to get my work done at home, sat on the floor on my laptop.

Yes I find I concentrate better alone too

Yes, I always find myself sat on the floor at home with all my papers and laptop around, I find it really hard to concentrate otherwise.
