Anyone else like this when it comes to doing work at college/uni

I just cannot focus at college doing my assignment work on the computers there, and often dont. I much rather like to get my work done at home, sat on the floor on my laptop.

Anyone else like this?

    I've been Money Tipped!
I never work at college - I can't bear all the people around me and can't spread out all my cr*p!!!

I wait until I get home and kids are in bend then work from about 10pm until 2am usually

Presently at a hiatus - essay just handed in, dissertation final draft is handed in and nothing outstanding - Yeay!!!!

I personally prefer to work from my desk at my flat, but I know plenty of others that get distracted too easily at home and prefer to hit the library.

I seem to spread out - papers, books, pens, mp3 player etc. And im really strange about people looking over my shoulder (donno where that comes from  ) so I work from home (or it was that way at college and more than likely be at uni).

I work best under pressure, some of the best written stuff I ever handed in at college was done the night before.

i strongly disagree, at least you cant sucked into the dreaded !!!!!! vortex. a ten minute break to relieve the tension of looming deadlines and you simply fall into another world where time has no meaning, emerging hours or even days later.

[STRIKE]today[/STRIKE]yesterday for instance, with no flat mates about i decided to take the day off and not go out tonight so i can make a start on my dissertation. here i am at 4:22am and all i've wrote is half a paragraph, not even a full paragraph.

I'd even wrote myself a note saying 'stop looking at !!!!!! and do some work!' and stuck it next to my monitor. I've just totally ignored it.

library for me tomorrow. So far i've not encountered the problem while at uni, just spend hours writing bollox on facebook.
What's it going to be, eh?

lol- it happens man- try disconnecting your computer from the internet entirely while you work (unless you need to actually use the internet for your work... then your just screwed)

I like working at home better than uni. I can take my time, and spread stuff out. Although I tend to get distracted (like now!) :)

  • I cannot do much work at the university campus, but it doesn't matter so much as I only attend 1 day per week. I have plenty of time at home to spread out all over the bed (I get backache though after a while) the disadvantage of working at home is the desk is not big enough to work on.

I have to disconnect from the net completely and if anything is required I ask my better half to locate it for me and print it off.

  • Yup I'm the same. Would much prefer to work at home in peace. The libary at college is a disgrace. It attracts all the local layabouts unfortunatly, so it's more like being caged in a noisy zoo.

I also find I work better on an evening, so the college would be shut anyway once I started any work.

Forgive me if I don't get this right, first ever post. I also find it hard to get in the mood to study anywhere. Decided to stay at Uni but haven't managed yet - too much on! Get very distracted at home but it gets done in the end. Wish I was more disciplined!!!! Timetable all over the place, just seem to be wasting a lot of time not studying. Anyone - any suggestions?
