BT Broadband - Do they do 'retentions'?

Hi all
I have been with BT Broadband for 2 and a half yeras now and have had a trouble free experience.
However , for the last year or so have been meaning to investigate other cheaper suppliers as the £26 BT charge me is, I feel, too much.
However, I would rather not go through the hassle if at all possible and wondered if BT had a retentions department you could refer to by threatening to cancel and going to another ISP.
Does anyone know if this is the case and if so, what kind of discounts they offer.

They do offer discounts to keep you but the offer I got was pretty rubbish; 3 months half price with a new 12 month contract. Not good enough so I went with MAAF instead0

I am thinking the same, I like bt, but btyahoo braodband is charging me £17.99 for broadband. I am a light user. My contract expires at the beginning of June and I am looking at other provider esp sky. I can get sky broadband free but a bit reluctant due to negative feedback from sky broadband users. I would appreciate a recommendation for anothe provider cheaper than Bt. Which number do you have to phone if you want to cancel broadband with bt. Thanks0
