Hi all im back again
Had another appointment for my meter to be change today. This time the engineer was trainned but did not have the parts!!
This was the 3rd time an appointment has been made
1st nodody turned up (compensated)
2nd engineer not trainned
3rd engineer did not have parts
What can I do I feel im just going in round in circles.
I dont have a problem with EDF its the metering companys they dont seem to know there left from right.
This time EDF told them I am on a medium preassure supply and its still not done

Not too sure but he said something to do with the pressure, he said without it my boiler could blow up0

that is called a governor, what exactly did he say the problem is, as if you have faulty governor that is considered a risk to safety and you usually have to call the gas emergency service - turn the gas off at the meter and dial 0800 111 999 now, as you need an emergency engineer to come out and they will attend within 2 hrs, - as I do not know what he said I am not sure what will be done but it does need looking at and do tell the emergency operator that it is a medium pressure governor as that is very important.
If left the gas pressure can alter possibly leading to several problems, from what you said it sounds like high pressure. if the gas pressure is too high the boiler or any other appliance will not be able to burn the gas properly as too much is coming through and that can lead to several problems including the production of carbon monoxide not to mention higher bills.
Just to be clear we are talking about a part on the gas meter?I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -
Complain to your supplier. They can always compensate you and recover the compensation of the agent where its their fault.
If they are supposed to be trained and equipped, its not within Ofgem's Guaranteed Standards Of Service (GSOS) which I think is yet another Ofgem failure since many of these aborts occur due to issues like this.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
there is nothing wrong with the meter or equipment its just im going from prepayment to credit.
I spoke to my supplier again yesterday and told them that this job should have been done 50 days ago. Also that when it is done im going on the blue price promise. As it is a cheaper tariff I said i have been paying more than I should for the past 50 days.
The man said he has put credit on my account to cover the difference £30 and £10 compensation. However I think he has done this on my pp account will I get that back when the account is closed? as I have to make yet another appointment0 -
Did the engineer say there is a problem with the gas pressure at the moment or that it needs a new regulator or governor - you may not have been aware of the problem but the engineer may have found it when doing the checks etc -
If he did then you do need to call 0800 111 999 to report, there is no charge at all and to be honest I am concerned for safety here, and I would if I took the call would send an engineer out, - I work for the gas emergency service and deal with this issue daily (well not today as on rest day) if they find all ok great free call out for peace of mind for me at least - if find problem they can ensure that you and yours are safe.
Gas pressure problems ARE a risk to safety,I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -
no, no fault was found its just a simple meter exchange0

I am somewhat confused as you state in original post that he did not have the parts and the part in question could result in your boiler blowing up ? which points to gas pressure probs -I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -

Ye he said he did not have the part to replace, he said it has to be replaced with meter changes0 -
