Do United Airlines charge for baggage Transatlantic?

Do United Airlines charge for baggage on Transatlantic flights from London, as I have found some reasonable fares with them for July/August for LA & SF, on their site it's a bit vague but it seems to indicates that they charge $25 per bag per flight, anyone flown with them recently?

There is normally a free luggage allowance when flying transatlantic unless it has changed very recently.

I would suggest calling them as I found them very helpful when I called them about a flight change.

That seems to suggest that the 1st bag is free ....
For travel between locations not included in the chart below, no first checked bag charges apply.

  • There is no charge for the first bag on international flights and domestic flights booked on the same ticket as international sectors.

Just to confirm what others have said there is no charge for bags from the UK-USA and USA-UK. (This includes flights like London-Newark-Boise etc)

If you have booked any seperate US domestic flights, then you will have to pay charges for them for baggage.
