    Oh Ellie do it! I keep meaning to crochet a couple of scatter cushion christmas covers but never get round to it ;) plenty of time this year

    I think I will! :D If I do a granny square design, I can be even more inventive with the colour patterns. Ooooo, going to my wool stash right now. If I remember correctly, I have plenty of this lovely dark green wool left from last Christmas. I'm gonna have fun :D

    :j I seem to have converted my husband! He's just rang me from work to ask if we have any money(the answer is pretty much always no :o) because he's just bought the kids chistmas presents and also an extra for my mum and his mum and the kids present for me along with a couple of extra bits, in the bond sale at approx 80% discount:cool:. ok, so he bought them before he checked we had enough money, but glad to know he's thinking ahead and at this rate christmas will be sorted by the end of august:rotfl:!!

    THIS THREAD IS AMAZING :j
    I just used a link that has been posted here to dotcomgiftshop and I have just got loads of little stocking fillers for my girls. I make a gift bag each year with craft and art supplies and I have just managed to get so much stuff/ I said earlier that I was sorted for xmas decorations but I just saw some beautiful ones for 39p so erdered some. I spent £33 with p+p but not yet worked out what I have saved. Also got lovely notebooks and pens, sewing sets and the tealight holders.
    Thank you so much
    Total saving of £58.39 so happy

    I made these for teachers and assistants last year too, but this year both my children will have male teachers and I'm not sure pots of gold are really an attractive pressie for men. What do people think? I suspect they'd rather just have a bottle of wine!
    Absolutely! DD did some for the boys in her college class but used beer tankards from Ikea 99p each and popped in a bottle of Budweiser from a multipack box (£6.49 in Aldi they have the same deal on at the moment),so they worked out to 65p a bottle along with a few sweets plus a £1 scratch card and they loved them. Total for each chum was around £3.00

    Another idea if you know somebody who loves gardening, buy a snazzy coloured plant pot and fill it with a pair of gloves, seeds, trowel and fork ( buy at the end of summer sales) or anything that you think they need for the garden and again pop in a lottery ticket.

    The same goes for camping equipment, use an enamel plate an put in a cup, bowl, folding knife fork and spoon, pen knife, mini cooker and spare tablets etc.
    Get all of it half price in the summer sale

    Other themes are;
    Barbecue hamper....... again half price sale stuff
    Knitting/crochet hamper........ wool, needles and a pattern
    Cooking hamper.... use a mixing bowl add an apron a wooden spoon etc and as a litle bit of fun put in a balloon whisk with a little tag saying "We Whisk You a Merry Christmas"
    Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    My dotcom gifts arrived today, love the polka for boxes that were £15 and I picked them up for £1.49, great sizes so a fab bargain :D got a few stocking fillers, jigsaws, pencil pots, mandatory flannels:D incense for 10p and a insense holder in the shape of Buddha! Not for me, my mother has a thing for Buddha but it's a lot smaller than I expected, only the size of a 2p and perhaps an inch tall! It was £1 which is massively overpriced but the insense was only 10p so evens itself out :D
    £20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**

    Hi I've got today a small wooden dolls house for £4.99 from Argos sale. I think both DS and DD will love it, and it opens up a whole world of gift opportunities when grannies ask what to get them!
