i collect tins and stuff every year must have done it since i left home around 28 years ago!!!!!! i start around the begining of august and get one or two extra items per week and stick them in a box in the spare bedroom. by christmas i just need fresh stuff and last minute items. this year im also saving morr*s*ns £5 petrol vouchers as DH drives alot to get to work. i have £30 worth so far so reckon christmas food will be easily sorted. My dad provides all veggies from his allotment for the big day too.
time to get my list sorted i thinksealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43

Thank you, just got loads of gifts from .com giftshop place and it only came to £16 including postage! Am really pleased with it all, got 3 of the storage bags plus loads of jigsaws, ribbon and goodness knows what.
Spotted the 'keep calm' notebooks reduced in Mr T last week and got 6 of those 79p -99p depending on size.
Am doing well as I have already made lots of knitted and crochet things. Love the idea of using cans with ring pulls to make a losse bottom tin :j excellent have always wondered how on earth to get the cakes out! I use the smal tins of spaghetti hoops for DGS so will do some tiny ones in those for singletons.
OH aways sneakily buys the odd saving stamp in the supermarkets and presents the, to me and DGS near chrimbo so we can do an extra shop - bless himClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

Oh I know, my very own big box of christmas hamper to open Christmas week with the excitement of "oh, I forgot I bought that, yippee!" and no more worrying about bigger food bills for the festivities. I like that idea. Now, where's there a box?0 -
What a brilliant idea. I did mini hampers for the tots 2 xmas eve's ago, just new pjs, a story book, DVD, sweeties for DS (DD was only 3mths) never thought of doing a foodie one for myself.... HmmmmBossymoo

Now there was me thinking I would buy one or two bits and pieces and then someone says "hamper"- I remember when the old mother used to get a hamper from the catalogue back in the Seventies and it was amazing. I hate to think how much she paid over the odds for it right enough but even the thought brings back happy memories.
Right, off to trawl the house for a suitable box for my Christmas Hamper (2012 version) :xmassmileDFW Nerd Club # 13640 -

im a shocker for buying xmas hampers from the christmas savings fairy mostly for the nostalgia of my mum getting a food hamper every year when i was younger. my DH doesnt approve and i know it costs over the odds but i have done it again this year!:o
