This Christmas my wife is going to make my favorite pudding .
"Traditional plum pudding" . I guess this is one magic pudding - it can be made well in advance and gets better with age.0 -
I bought lots in the January sales, so I have all my cards, paper, gift tags, crackers, new decorations and quite a few pressies. I will definitely make more pots of gold again this year, because they went down a storm with everyone last year ( I forgot to take photos of mine but this is the sort of thing that I mean)

DD wants to do them for her friends this year too. I always do the kids a stocking but now that they are older I usually fill them with joke gifts, socks and smellies.
I have bought some of the 99p fabric boxes in B&M and will use them as Hampers. Because DD and her BF are both media students I have got them a clapperboard each from Amazon and a notebook that looks like a clapperboard from Tiger and I will get them some DVD's, popcorn and the like to fill the hamper with.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Not Buying it 2015!0 -
I bought a few bits from the dotcom sale. 3 pots of "I love London" pencils for £1 each, and 2 sets of plastic containers for something ridicilous like £1.95 for 3 - down from £14.95! They were for me though - I have a thing about tins/containers!
I'll pop into town later & see what The Old factory Shop & poundstretcher & the Works has to offer.0 -
Chaos_Monkey wrote: »Byatt, you can also use the He*nz steamed pudding tins - I found they are a great size for 2 people. The ones with the ring pull lids are better, as then you can open them as normal, throw the pulled lid away, turn the tin upside down and use a tin opener to cut the bottom out (making sure you cut through the top, inside the rim, if that makes sense?). The bottom you've just cut out will fall down and sit on the rim that the ring pull lid left. Et voila - mini loose bottomed cake tins!
I can't take credit for this, I got it from MSE a few years ago. But it does work beautifully.
Stupidly, when we emigrated I chucked my original set out and then have had to start again but my brother got me the non-ring pull tins this time and I'm yet to use them. I'm a bit worried I'm going to get the cakes stuck inside!

Everone laughs at me for doing my shopping early and getting myself organised but come decembber when they are skint and rushing around crowded shops hunting for presents, I will be at home in the warm with a glass of mulled wine!
Great to meet likeminded christmas-lovers!
I managed to get all my cards in Clintons closing down sale and my present cupboard is coming along nicely! I actially enjoy winter and the colder weather, I just hate the dark mornings
Hope to pick up lots of tips on here from you all!0 -
I was just wondering if anyone has started their Christmas food shop yet?
I usually start about now putting the odd can or reduced bits into
Christmas stash.
Got reduced jars of cranberry sauce 20p, jar mustard 10p, stuffing 10p and a lovely 2kg Gammon joint reduced to 2.00 and still have tin of Salmon and tin of Ham from last year.
Does anyone else do this?Slimming World at target0 -
