Cheapest unlocked handset?

As the title says, I'm after the cheapest possible handset.

Only functions needed would be calls and texts.

I'm with Three, soon to be on Tesco. GF is with Vodafone. So handset would definitely need to be unlocked.

Anyone found a dirt cheap, < £10 handset.

I was able to get a BN LG phone for just under £15 but it was O2. I've no idea if it would be cheap/easy to unlock.

Have you a cash generator or cex shop nearby?

For '3' you need a 3g handset that you will not find cheap unless second hand.
For other networks see CPW/osps/e2save/mobiles.co.uk. They usually have some cheap PAYG handsets that are normally unlocked, but you'll have to pay £10 topup.

E.g. Nokia 1800 refurbished is just £5.90 at OSPS and gets sold even without topup.

I managed to get a 1p (unlocked) phone deal from the e2save Facebook page.

You have to "like" the page and then through the "Fan Deals" banner somewhere in the middle, you can purchase a phone for 1p.

Only catch is that you will also have to purchase a £10 Orange top-up. I guess if you can offload the top-up, it's an amazing deal!
