the phone has nothing to do with the contract its mereley a benefit or a gift. you can do what you want with it. you havent even got to tell them you sold it!

I could understand in the case of temporarily having £300 in cash as asset, but once your £90 is paid for DRO fee it's £210 and not an issue.
The mobile provider can object if you recently took the contract out, and it's now going into the DRO as a debt, because you took it out with no intention to repay in their eyes.

I don't think it's so black and white, but in all honesty, it's worth trying the DRO and seeing what happens. I wouldnt go elsewhere, if you tell your intermediary you want the DRO, they have to do it. If you have waited for CCCS to set it all up, go back to them and insist, rather than going through the whole process again

    Hello again,

I think, rather than this current intermediary possibly ticking a box saying they dont agree with the application, and risking your fee - I would go to a different intermediary and mention nothing about the phone as it is irrelevant because you got a fair 2nd hand price (so not a transaction at undervalue) and you used the money "to live" so no prefference.
Put the contract in to the application.

Won't the iphone you sold be blocked by the network once you stop paying the bill? Someone will have an expensive paperweight.

Yes it will - thats why I would never buy a phone from someone who was still in a network contract for it - they stop paying, phone stops working.
