Definitely!
Spendy day today. Was out for lunch with a friend and it was my turn to buy!
I've still pretty much got the 'no plans please' feeling for the weekend!Physically sore from (over?!)doing exercise so can't see too much happening anyway!
Off Monday so nice long weekend aheadKids only another week left of the summer then back at school! Where's the time going?! Think they're all ok uniform-wise. Need to check they've all files/bags/pens etc they need this weekend.
Hope everybody's Friday is going well/improving dramatically - think I've had a read at most of the diaries already.Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Thank you!!
Had a busy (and spendy) but brilliant weekend!
:D
Saturday morning went out for a cycle with OH
Saturday afternoon we headed off on the motorbike round the coast - complete with 2 sleeping bags, 2 man tent, disposable BBQ, meat, and a load of snacks!!:D Stopped off at a chippy for a fish supper for dinner - hard to beat!We lit the BBQ Sunday morning and had bacon and sausages for breakfast! Tasty!
Much needed break away with OH
Yesterday we all headed to a nearby Garden for a nosey round, but was very disappointing - especially when we had to pay to get in. Some gorgeous flowers but really wasn't worth paying in!
Back to work today
Only 3 more sleeps til payday!
....but big bills coming up....
- car tax
- electric needs topped up
- heating oil
- told OH I would 'buy' half of his car
- our non-existant and not-talked-about holiday
- pamper day for my friend's pressie for her 30th birthday (I'm getting pampered too obviously!)
Having a look at TV/internet stuff at the minute. We've got Freeview which is fine. I'm also paying £16 for 15gb internet (3 - rolling contract just). Debating ditching the TV totally, and changing to Talk Talk (or similar) with unlimited internet, and watching catchup instead. For all that we use the TV for, we may as well. Just a bit hesitant to change because... well, I'm not sure why actually. Spose it's just 'fear of the unknown'!TT would be a 12 month contract. Minimum I assume. I can go through TCB too for a few extra ££. Thoughts anyone??
Looking forward to this weekend too: it's the Air Show again! No idea what the weather will be like. Bad as usual probably! Will def be heading down at least one of the days. Not sure if any of the girls will be coming right enough.
Only an hour then it's hometime :j:j Lazy night tonight I hope!!
How is everybody? Did you have a good weekend?Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
I know we would miss the tv. What would you gain by giving up the tv? Do you have a Clubcard? They do free films and old box sets, pretty nostalgic, nothing too new but good entertainment.
For your big bills have you planned for these?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Thanks for your reply unix
Main reason is we can't justify paying a TV licence for all we watch!
The only one who would miss the TV is DD3, and only because she watches soaps - which she can watch on demand (I've suggested she pays for the licence herself but she didn't take me on :rotfl:) The rest of us don't bother with TV at all. Films and the music channel is the height of it.
Tesco Clubcard? I doWill have to look into that. Would subscribe to LoveFilm again, or maybe Netflix.
Ref the big bills, just about!:o The car tax we decided would only be for 6 months this time, as we do have the other stuff to fork out for soon. Thankfully my FD money will be accessible in a couple of weeks, so will be able to clear up the big bills, then make sure the rest is tucked away earning interest
Planning on starting the new regular saver with FD again, even though the interest is down to 6%. Still very good, and still necessary for me to have a strict target and no access!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Well that's the internet 'bought'!
Went for Talk Talk.
Unlimited broadband = [STRIKE]£7.50[/STRIKE] £3.75 for 12 months
Line rental = [STRIKE]£15.40[/STRIKE] £114 up front = £9.50 per month
Free installation = [STRIKE]£50[/STRIKE] £0
Plus I went through TCB
Which means I'll be paying £13.25 per month for unlimited broadband, rather than £15.99 for 15GB, so much better (and that's not counting TCB)
We can decide about and sort out the TV licence bit another time
Now to attempt to cancel my 3 internet.....:eek::eek:
EDIT:
Keeping an eye on TCB for obvious reasons, only the offers showing now for TT are different from earlier! There were 4 or 5 that expired today, now it's only showing one. Was meant to take a screen shot before progressing my order but it didn't saveJust hope it tracks ok!!!

Good luck trying to cancel with them, I'm on one of there call lists as they took the numbers out of SIL's phone and pestered me with upto 20 calls a day to sell me a phone/broadband etc. After just about tearing my hair out I took a leaf (pardon the pun) out of the old Nambarrie advert and left the phone on the side after saying 'hang on a minute just need to answer the door' and sat my phone next to speaker for the CD player. Every few minutes I lifted the phone to say 'we appreciate your patience and will be with you shortly'. They actually hung on for 15 minutes!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Ha ha! Brilliant!! I've had to cancel with them before and it was beyond a nightmare! Ended up having 2 contracts instead of 1
But coz of their incompetence I got £5 monthly discount on my mobile broadband
They're as stubborn with the 3 store staff too, not just customers! It's crazy!
Either I'll just repeat 'I'm not interested!' over and over again, or else put them 'on hold' for a while....Thanks for the tip!!

Talk Talk should be up and running by 4th Sept :j
TCB tracked - wrong - so I've lodged a claim. Waiting game now!
Spendy day as I treated wee sister to lunch for her birthday. Had a full loyalty card too so got a free coffee
Zumba later - can't wait! Always buzzing by this time I get there and dancing/wiggling about to the music waiting for class to start :rotfl:
Think me and OH heading to Lidl later or tomorrow to check out the cycling gear
Payday tomorrow :j:j Must must MUST keep my unnecessary spending in check as it's been getting way outta hand!
Speaking of which, I use fake tan, but only on my face. Had bought a he-shi face tan a couple years ago, but always too chicken to try it out(looked waaaay too dark in the tube!) Decided I had to use coz my own is running out and there's no point in me buying another one when I've a perfectly good one sitting gathering dust! I currently have 1/2 a tanned tummy
:rotfl: Colour isn't bad actually, so should be safe enough to attempt the face next!
Big spends list:
- [STRIKE]car tax[/STRIKE]
- electric
- heating oil
- car
- holiday
- pamper day for 30th
- [STRIKE]internet [/STRIKE](not on my original list but saving long term)
Finally got another unit submitted for my NVQ :j (Crikey! It is sooooooo boring:o:rotfl:)
Everyone well?Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0
