MSE Update: We've launched a new Credit File & Ratings Board

Thanks for the suggestion erimus1, back to your original post.....

This site is brilliant but all the Credit Reference Agency threads are all ver the place - how do we request a new forum heading?

no they haven't - they've just started a new thread. What the OP is hope for is a sub-forum for all the Credit Reference Agency threads so they can find them all in one place without having to search.

Yep, that is exactly what I was looking at. Who do you have to bribe in here to get one started - I think it's definitely a big enough topic.

ps i'm never sure which section to put a credit rating/report post. Just a suggestion to the moderators, maybe its own sub category might be handy to users.

As long as there is a sticky about the misleading and waste of money credit scores there can be no harm in having a new board ( as these would form the basis for most posts). I've started a thread explaining why these scores are inaccurate but appeals to make it a sticky were not taken onboard.

    I think it's a great idea! +1 from me!
  • I think it is a good idea and it would be nice if there could be a few stickies perhaps explaining what defaults and bad credit can mean in terms of products you are looking for (ie mortgages, credit cards, loans) and I have to agree with The Boss about the scoring aspect, I think there needs to be more awareness it is how you run your accounts rather than how your score is. Anyone with other issues could then be directed to another appropriate board if required. As long it wasn't a purely how to improve my credit score section I think it could work well.

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.

++1 - a sticky explaining the irrelevance of a person's "excellent" credit score to their chances of getting credit is a must.

    Sounds good to me.

A lot of people seem to ask either here or in the credit card forum, but credit file queries are not necessarily related to either subject!
