Parking Attendant ??

So after the passage of the Olympic torch this afternoon our local Morrison's car park was in chaos!
So many cars stuck getting out that those wanting to go in couldn't!

I mentioned it to Customer Service who assured me that there was a parking attendant and it was his job to sort the car park out.

So bought what I needed and went out to the car, 30 minutes later I got out of the car park!

The car park attendant, well yes he was there with his CP Plus badged jacket, with "Car Park" written on the back (is his back the car park?) wandering round looking all lost and confused but not making any attempt to help.

Nothing anyone can do, you can park where you like, there's no law against it. Suggest they put a barrier on the exit.
  • He's called a Parking Attendant because him doing any work, is attendant on him being bothered. :D
  • How was he intending on sorting the car park out? Did he have the keys to all of the cars in it?

I'd ask the super market what he was supposed to do?
i.e. I'd guess that all he could do was to ensure that parking spaces were used correctly as much as was possible -what else did anyone expect him to do?
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

Over on PePiPoo somebody is reporting that they have received a "parking charge notice" form Civil Enforcement Ltd when the driver could not exit the park because of road closures in the surrounding area due to the Torch procession, and that the car park itself was gridlocked.

Perhaps the "parking attendant" mentioned above was doing the same thing, and making up a long list of overstayers, ready to issue PCNs?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Why would anyone want to do such a job anyway?

Low self esteem? Desperate for work? Just out on remand? Just had a lobotomy?

There could be a few reasons.

I think number2 would cover most of them, I can't think many would do it from first choice, unless they get a high from !!!!ing people off.

Well he won't have been trained to do that because parking management is not what PPCs do. :)
