You can read more about the service either my googling it, the name is DataVault UK or send me a message
Hope to hear your views soon.

Far too expensive, I use Carbonite which offers far better encryption 1024 bit Blowfish as opposed to 448 bit Blowfish and unlimited storage for about £30 per YEAR as opposed to £35 per MONTH for only 10 GiB.

Would like to do it once weekly (work from home). Bought Ghost cause told it would do backups automatically, instead of everytime I remember :j

After many hrs - gave up. When I contacted a Ghost helpline, they siad it was not for beginners.

I am bit a bit better than that but still could not get it to do what I wanted. Bought a second HDrive

Back to MS backup (XP). Thought I had managed to schedule a weekly backup but I don't think it's happening...how can I tell?

I don't do this often enough, so it takes me ages to work it all out

Download a trial of Acronis True Image 10 from here and give it a try. Much better and easier than Ghost.

Thank you but not sure I can face it. Not keen on trials-further costs.

The MS xp backup should do the job shouldn't it???

Don't worry about partitions. All you need to do is select your C: drive and make an image (backup) of it to the second hard drive you bought.

One of the best and cheapest methods for back-up I found was to buy a 2.5" USB caddie for £5 off of eBay and chuck in an old laptop HD.

I currently have a 40GB HD attached to my iMac and works a treat, I take it into work and all sorts.

I have never used any software to make my back-ups, just manually drag and drop stuff.

if i do something important i back it up simple as,

i use raid miroring on my hard drives and backup to other drives as often as needed, im a computer engineer of 10 years and nothing is worse than data loss, i make music and can spend 10 hours at a time working on stuff and i really do take backups seriously this also goes accross into my job other peoples data is important even if its just a music collection or a few photos. many times use user will say don't worry about backing that up, but i do anyway because a week later you can 99% predict they will call me up saying i can't find my favorites or some document from there desktop
