  • Plug it into a USB port on your PC - it appears as a drive, you can then drag and drop any files you want to keep safe into it. It doesn't take the files totally, just copies them. When you want to disconnect it, double click on the 'Safely remove hardware' icon on the bottom right hand taskbar, select the drive and click on 'Stop'. You can then unplug it from your PC.

I desperately need to back up - have sage files on my pc- but not sure how to - can anyone give me an idiots guide please? Have a dell with hard drive only no floppy. Wasn't sure if I should buy an external floppy from Dell. I only have windows xp - should I buy some software also - if so which one?

I'm assuming that this is at home and you don't have a network.

Do you have a DVD or CD writer? The easiest solution then is to select the Sage files and any key documents and write them to a DVD or CD.

Otherwise you'll need to buy a couple of USB drives (sometimes called memory sticks) and copy the files to these via you USB port.

Please can you tell me the difference between Norton Goback and Norton Ghost. I bought a laptop from PC world and got Norton Internet Security 2006 plus a disc with Norton Ghost 10, Norton Ghost 9 and Norton Goback for £29.99, and am wondering if I need to install all of them or just one. Please will someone let know.

    Thank you.

Ok, I'm going to sound really stupid but please I need some help.

Recently my computers hard drive died and I had to have it re formatted, luckily the guy in the computer shop managed to find my photos and documents but it took me weeks to sort out the computer so I want to back up and I'm not sure how to do it.

Sure I can save photos to disk and documents to floppies but what about things like drivers and address books and calendars and favorites etc. If anyone can tell me how to do this I'd be very grateful. I have DVDs and Nero so is it best to burn back up onto DVDs?

What I don't understand is how you can get all the information from a computer onto a DVD and then just pop it in and expect it all to work as before.

    Please help if you can
