If it's not UK based i'm pretty sure it's not legitimate!Minds are like parachutes - they only function when open.

Assuming she does actually get quotes rather than just pocketing the nifty, I would love to see what information she manipulates when she enters it to get a quote.0

It's probably easy to get a genuine certificate with your name and car on, pretty cheaply. Someone just has to put fake (and much "safer") data into the quote machines without telling you. Some insurance companies will do some checks but not all will, and you'll never know until it comes to claim and you find you're not insured:eek:We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

this is what happens
you pay them cash/direct debit every month
they declare you as 50 year old driver with 10+ year no claims, occupation driving instructor, ADI passed your insurance will be £500 or less
and when police stops you on a random check or when you need to make a claim you will find out
been dere with a friend who got scammed via spifftv website
pay £200 extra do it yourself
they will give you real paperwork but with your occupation etc changed but your insurance will exist just will be void since the time its bought0 -
This is an out and out scam and no-one should even consider touching such an arrangment with a bargepole. Assuming that you're lucky enough to get any policy documents they, won't be worth the paper they're written on.
See this thread for what happens:

I have reported the scammer on this thread to Crimestoppers and the Insurance Fraud Bureau.0
