What reason would I need to have for the policy to be misold to me?

    Karma isn't a valid complaint reason either!:p

Probably stands more chance of success though ;)
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

The original complaint will not stand up because there is no evidence.

The fact that your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments means you "have" to have cover in the sense that it is "essential", rather than "compulsory". The Mortgage Code Compliance Board confirmed this in its good practice notes (page 14 for those who still have copies!).

    So the complaint should fail.

Last year I posted on this site for advice regarding a PPI complaint. I was met with ridicule and accusations of being a 'compensation chaser' from so called experts.
Just to let the experts know that I have received a payment from LTSB regarding my mis-sold policy.
It seems the advice given on this site was incorrect and in light of recent reports in the media of the practises that LTSB claim handlers undertook, I feel totally vindicated.
Just goes to show that the experts(namely dunstonh, Moneyineptitude and magpiecottage) were wrong.
Don't believe everything you are told by employees of banks or the 'experts' on this forum.

Did they uphold your complaint or was it a goodwill gesture? Did the FOS rule in your favour or give Lloyds a chance to offer you payment?

The Bank originally rejected the complaint.Read the OP.

    Really?
You are now entitled to take your original complaint to the Ombudsman
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step4
This was 'wrong" in what way?
The operator you spoke to has no way of knowing whether FOS will overturn the Bank's rejection, but you won't know unless you try.

You can expect a wait of many many months.
Again, in what way were my comments "wrong"?

I stand by my position that the complaint, as the OP presented it to us, should have failed.

So either the uphold was because of something we do not know, or it as a matter of commercial or political expediency.
