ok so im new at this so im hoping im posting this in the right place and that i will be able to find my way back here again to read replies!
so part exchanged my old car this week and i took the tax disc out and pocketed it for a refund. we signed all the necessary paper work and the bloke went out to double check the car was ok. he came back and asked where the tax disc was and i told him i had it as i wanted a refund. he insisted it was theirs and like a fool i gave it to him.
i have checked all the paper work and nothing i signed said they had to have the disc. my husband works for volkswagan and he checked with the sales manager there and he said that unless we signed anything to say the tax was part of the deal then we are entitled to the disc.
i cannot find an email address for sutton in ashfield branch. the only option is to request a call back for a test drive. i am useless on the phone and would prefer to email them as i know if i get on the phone i will go to pieces and let them talk me round.
it is worth me contacting the dvla and letting them know that the tax disc should not be refunded?

You voluntarily gave the person the tax disc and have changed your mind and want it back.0 -
tough
life lesson here for you i'm afraid............0 -
i guess it could be looked at like that yes. i did give it to him, but surely the company should be honest and give it back?! nieve maybe but im just very cross lol0

Ring them up and ask for their email address.0

Alternatively, we used to have a decent postal system.
Write them a letter of complaint and address it to the manager.

what, the motor trade?
- bite the bullet
- learn the lesson
- move on

We still have.
It was a bit tongue in cheek. The OP seemed to be finding it hard to find an email address for something that will no doubt be read.
Despite s b's approach to customer service I'd actually think a letter to the dealer principle might have more chance of being read by someone.
