Not sure what sort of holiday you want or where you are travelling from but many of the seaside resorts are on the rail network. Tenby, Newquay many of the south coast resorts including Littlehampton Weymouth and Bournemouth for example all have stations and a variety of accommodation.

I think that a lot of the large Holiday Parks have good public transport links, and once there you probably don't need to leave the site for the duration.
Like onewon says, it depends what sort of holiday you are looking for.0 -
lots of people travel to Haven sites by public transport - many sites have buses coming into the site....
where abouts do you want to go?

I am a single mum with 2 boys. I dont have a car at the moment. We are off to Butlins (Skegness) on the train in 3 weeks. With a Family and Friends railcard http://www.familyandfriends-railcard.co.uk/
We can get very good discounts on rail fares. It costs just over £35 for the three of us for a return, from the East Midlands to Skeggy in July. Then its just a short taxi (or bus ride) to Butlins.
It would cost more than that in petrol to get to Skeggy and back!!Slimming world new starter 2/1/17

Not sure if you already know, but if it helps I would recommend getting the bus - the station is attached to the train station, so you literally get off the train walk two minutes to the right and you're there. If you want to go into Skegness or Ingoldmells from Butlins the buses run from the main reception, and also from just outside the main gate. Alternatively you can walk down to Ingoldmells, not far at all.
Oh, and if you are going self catering or just want to pick up some snacks there is a large Tesco straight behind the bus station, you can't miss it. Enjoy!

Oooooh thanks for that info. We have been before (but in another "life"). Never on public transport. I was planning to go to Mr Ts anyway. With three suitcases, a teenager and a five yr old, I won't fancy walking down the Roman bank.Slimming world new starter 2/1/17

The Isle of Man has great public transport and it's easy to get around. There is a train to Heysham ferry terminal and then buses when you get off in Douglas.0

National express is another thing to look at. I didn't think my son, who was 4 at the time, would cope when we went to disneyland paris on coach, as it was around 12 hours travel but he was fine. I'd now definitely consider going on bus down south as it'd be about half the time. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

Right I've done Dawlish Warren with kids and cases. Train to Exeter then change onto local line to get to Dawlish Warren. Nice and easy walk from the station.
Also done Camber Sands, both pontins and parkresorts. Train to Rye then busto park gates, and if you have a friends and family railcard, use it to buy the plus bus tickets online as well. Makes the bus cheaper than buying on the day.
Haven Coombe Haven, train to Hastings then bus to camp gate. Again using plus bus ticket worked out cheaper.
And many yrs ago did Butlins Bognor, train to Bognor then walked.
Both Dawlish Warren and Camber have nice beaches if the kids are still young enough to enjoy sandcastles.0 -
