The one I mentioned in post #7 charge £20 but even cheaper than orange if you pay by bank transfer ie seller doesn't get charged PayPal fees so he passes the saving to the customer. He has very good feedback so hardly think he's going to con you if you pay by BACS.0

Hi, I have a iphone which is on 3 network - I have been checking on ebay but cannot anyone who can unlock it. Most of them only do Voda or Tmobile/Orange. Can anyone recommend? Thanks0

i myself went and had mine done though eBay and it was done in 2-3 days factory unlocked (NOT JAILBROKEN) and you can update your phone fine on iTunes even comes up in iTunes the phone is Unlocked.
Glad it worked but it's still unlikely to be "legit", just someone with a mate at Orange or Apple.
The OP got "scammed" twice, I can understand wanted in a cheaper solution but it's only 10 days, and to my mind not worth the potential hassle or risk to go anywhere else.
The only 100% legit official route is through the network provider anything else runs the risk of being re-locked later, however it's your choice to do it.0 -

I have been on two web sites and scammed out of my money for unlocking for the I phone 4s neither work and there is no apparent customer servies to dicuss with.
I called Orange and they can do it for £20 but it takes 20 working Days
Does anyone know of any legit sites where I can get this unlocked and prices
thanx

If it wasn't legit eBay would have shut them down by now they wouldn't want Apple after them
I can see the OP point and i would be upset if it was done to me
With Orange doing it is more like 30 days that's why i had mine done on eBay
Also if you pay though Paypal you got more chance of getting your money back if it don't work.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
Hi, can I ask why? Appart from switching providers, what can you do on an unlocked phone that you can't on a locked one?0

Features wise, absolutely nothing. However an unlocked phone gives you peace of mind knowing that when you go abroad on holiday/business, you can just buy a local sim to save on roaming costs. Also if you want to sell your unlocked phone its worth more. For example, a few months ago i bought a brand new (sealed) iphone 4 with full warranty on ebay for £310...was locked to vodafone but not an issue as i got it unlocked from VF free (already a customer).0 -

You are joking right?
Ebay don't care as long as they get their fee's. Time and Time again they have been tried in courts over counterfeit items, Tiffany and Co have been trying since 2004 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiffany_Inc._v._eBay,_Inc.) and only in one case in France has Ebay lost to a copyright owner.0
