Passport still in married name! a question

Hi, Just a quick question.
Before i go ahead and book my holiday, I just dug out my passport and it is still valid for years but in my married name. Can i still use this to travel? I am now divorced. I changed my name by deed poll back to my maiden last year.
So far i have only changed half of my bills/cards etc over to my maiden name. Although i posted off my driving licence to be changed last week
If not I will give the office a call but thought i would see if anyone knew here first
Thank you

You can't use it. You have to buy a new 10 year passport. But they will credit unused time on the old passport, up to 9 months.0

There have been a lot of posts regarding name changes on passports/travel documents. I think the general consensus was to book in the same name that was on your passport.
I'm wanting to change my name, but won't do it until my passport is expired. I refuse to pay the 77 quid to do it. The renewal is the same price as a name change.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
You can use it, but you have to book your tickets in the same name.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

yes, this is the correct information. Make sure your holiday booking is made in the same name thats on your passport, and you'll have no problems.0 -
Really? Brilliant that is just what i wanted to hear as i have two childrens passports to renew at great cost :P
I was just worried that they would check the passport and my life history would pop up on the screen and say about a name change and i would get sent home :P
My children all have their fathers/ my old married name anyway so i don't think it would look odd iykwim. The party will share the same surname
Thank you0 -
don't worry, the passport agency are not in posession of your life's history

I have the same issue - been divorced for 3 years and traveled on my married name numerous times because of my passport without any issues.
the only thing you need to be careful of is car hire if you're planning to drive while you're away. I get so used to booking everything associated with travel in my married name I once nearly forgot my driving license was in my maiden name and almost came unstuck.
The passport is fine though to travel on0 -

Just make sure you sign your children's applications in the same name as your passport0 -
