I went through a dry spell for a while this year, but it's picked up now and I've had some nice wins. Just keep going, you'll get there eventually!

where on earth do people find all these 100s of competitions to enter daily? i know this forum is good but 100s every day? are you entering the same competitions with different names?

i've had it explained to me that some of the more prolific compers on here have long term illnesses and disabilities so have the time to enter lots of competitions. but even then i think it's a little tragic to spend hours and hours every day on this 'hobby'. on your deathbed you're not going to think "i wish i'd comped more"!

A lot of the "prolific" compers, are the people who post most the competitions for us and have respectively saved people £1000s upon £1000s in total. I wouldn't count it as tragic... just kind.

Ps - I don't think you can state anything about someone with long-term illnesses/disabilities unless you have lived a day in their shoes. Just my opinion.

elsbells, i admit i've only recently dipped my toe into the comping world but elements to it baffle me. the generosity of those that post competitions on here when it then reduces their own chances of winning is truly selfless. i hope karma finds them well.

and i'm sorry if you're offended by my bewilderment at those that spend hours and hours every day comping. i'm actually on here now as i gave up a job to care for my mother in law so i don't need a sermon on not judging others. but there's been posts on here by people likening their comping 'hobby' to ocd and that to me is worrying.

I can understand your point, although I think it could have been written with maybe a bit more tact. (Ie not illnesses and deathbed) Additionally, I had not intended for my post to come across as a sermon. :o

I already put my view on the OCD bit on here.... so that being said I admire anyone who gives up their job to be a carer, and I wish you the best comping luck :)

reading it back, i think you have a point. i was rather inelegant in my expression and for that i'm sorry.

thanks for your good wishes. best of luck to you too.

I can't speak for other compers, but I am a carer too, I also work part time and look after a young family.
Spending what little spare time I have comping is more fun than playing solitaire or watching TV.
