I'll be popping in this weekend - will let you know!
If I don't have any luck, the mid sized atlas Torbrex linked to looks pretty good.
Otherwise the Michelin North Eastern USA and Eastern Canada (map 583) may just have to do!... Can't post links

I use a Satnav too, but they are utterly useless if the place you're going to doesn't have an address.
Also impossible to properly plan a route on.
In the US, the Satnav stays off until we're lost.
You either have the wrong one or you don't know how to use it. We have a Garmin portable and built in sat navs in our cars and they all will navigate to a latitude and longitude input or, failing that, a prod on the screen with a finger.
I used the latter method on Tuesday. I did need a paper map to work out where to prod though.0 -

I'm an avid user of the prod on the map method......but like you I rely on a paper map to know where to prod.0 -
            Quick update on this.
Ended up going to Stanfords (http://www.stanfords.co.uk/) in the West End yesterday as suggested by an earlier poster. Got to say that it's a great travel bookshop. The amount of choice they offer is outstanding! Highly recommended.
Decided to go for an American Highway Road Atlas for £11.95. Chose this one because it contains US and Canada (plus Mexico!), is easy to read and split by state. The state maps vary in scale with the more popular states (CA/NY for example) in more detail (1:1,000,000). The major towns and cities in each state are zoomed in with even more detailed views.
Pretty happy with my purchase, thanks guys

Yep, it is A3 - 144 pages and not too heavy.0
