We recently had a new composite front door, with glass above that is frosted. Unfortunately we forgot to ask for the door number to be etched on the glass so now looking to get that done ourselves.
We were thinking of buying something like this which is put on the outside of the glass. Just wondered if anyone had a better idea bearing in mind the glass is already frosted so the film stuff wont work.

Hi,
sometimes the 'frost' is sandwiched and the glass still has a smooth outer, have you checked?0 -
Yes, its smooth on the outside, and inside. But as its already frosted then the film stuff with a number cut out wouldnt show up?“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Hi,
would it not stick on outside?
Edit: Had a look at installation instructions, and as I understand them it gets stuck on outside, so should be fine.0 -
Hi
Saw you're post. We found the exact thing you're looking for, well my husband did! The company was called The Fanlight Number Company (just google them) sticks on the outside of the glass, used it on our fanlight - went for the silver as we already had silver door furniture. Works a treat as you're house numbers can easily be seen, the postman said he wished every house had one as it would make life easier for him. We also got a gold one for my mum - she's always had this thing about the emergency services not finding her house, but can't miss it know. She said all the houses in her street used to have them when she was small0 -
I had the same problem.
Easiest way I found was to buy some metal numbers ( in Black, as my door furniture is black ) and superglued them onto the front pane of the fanlight.
Looks good and works well, been up there 8 years with no problems.0 -
In case anyone is interested, this is what the numbers look like now we have them up. We had a bigger gap than we wanted as the numbers were slightly different in size, for some reason but I think it looks ok. The numbers are silver, not white.

Actually looks better than a lot of the ones done which you pay the DG firm for. Especially the lead light ones, mum has one in her door, you can't read it from the street !0 -
Thanks, I didnt think it was too bad. Bit pricy at £32, hoping the window cleaner doesnt scrub them off!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
