Best place to buy paint?

We usually end up at b&q but the paint Id like is so expensive!
We probably want the dulux endurance paint, as for a hallway and have a child! But it's about £40 a tin and we need 2 (10l)
Anyone suggest where would be best to get it, or a similar cheaper alternative?

Ive always used kitchen + bathroom paint , it cleans easily and is hard wearing. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

There is no such thing as kitchen and bathroom paint. It's simply silk emulsion in a different tin and sold at highly inflated prices.
Endurance is a scrubbable matt.
You may want to try a decorators merchant and get the 'diamond matt' which is the trade equivalent of endurance. It's a better quality paint and may well be cheaperEat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
B&Q sell diamond matt seen it in there worth checking dulux decorators shop too to compare prices0

They have a few shops around in Scotland I have found them great and the guy in Paisley keeps me right and tells me when I'm being a plonker.

Interestingly they sell on EBay sometimes too and that is done out of the Paisley outlet. Could be worth a phone and you will get it straight .0 -
Wickes do a nice durable matt emulsion.
Not dirt cheap, cheaper than the brands though, but a couple of years since I last did some.
I like it because it goes on easily. I have found dulux to thick in the past."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Is that the same for their 5 year mold resistant ones?
Shelled out £14 for 1L of the dulux variant for the bathroom. Have only used matt in the past. With a teenage daughter who likes to luxuriate in the shower, found that I was forever cleaning mould spots in a coupleof places recently (despite loads of ventilation), so thought I would give it a go."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... just use dulux soft sheen trade emulsion , no one needs endurance paint which is supposed to be 20x tougher than regualr emulsion , so as in most houses paint doesn't fall off with every day use why would anyone need paint that's 20 times tougher ,if it's done properly regular paint will do a good job
endurance isn't quite the same as vinyl silk but it is scrub-able where as normal paint is wipe-able http://www.dulux.co.uk/products/info/usage/endurance_silk.jsp0 -

I have to disagree with this. I would never buy Wickes durable Matt again. I found it terribly thin to apply (took loads of coats) and it doesn't 'scrub' well to clean it either. I was very disappointed. I painted a whole extension in the Wickes paint last year, not an experience I'll be repeating when I come to do it again...0 -

I would 2nd trying the decorators merchant or Dulux Decorating Centre and looking for the trade diamond matt. We have used the Endurance in the past and recently used Diamond Matt and although more expensive to buy for a tin the Trade Diamond Matt has way better coverage than the Endurnace. Thus meaning you probably wont need as many coats and therefore saving in the long run.0 -

We must be using different stuff/grade because we have not had any problems.
Have never known a "scrubable" matt.
We always use those wet kitchen/bathroom wipes and surface marks/scuffs come off fine."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
